Don't Go With The Flow Be The Flow.

Language of Sufis

A language is a tool to understand the words or action, and emotions of people. There are several languages which spoken in all over the world e.g.: English, French, Japanese, Chinese and the list goes on.  These types of languages use only for the purpose of understanding the communication, emotions, and actions. These languages needs grammar, proper understanding, and spoken according to their country. However, there is another language which is obscure for many people. That language has no barriers, no grammar, and that is also not a nation wide. That is a universal language and that language is a “Language of Sufis”.

Whenever the word Sufi demonstrated, the names which come in my mind are Malwana Jalal Uddin Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. A Shams was the master of Rumi. He showed him the path of spirituality through Sufism.  Before the arrival of Shams in Rumi’s life, Rumi was considered as a prominent, and well know Scholar and Malwana in his village. As Rumi was Malwana and scholar, so he being respected by everyone. He had good reputation in his family and as well as in his village.

Shams was the dervish and he had a lot of knowledge about Sufism. He was seeking for a true companion whom he could share his knowledge. And that person was Rumi. When Shams first time met with Rumi, he asked to Rumi that how big is your cup? On First time Rumi perplexed, but, Actually, he was asking about the seven stages of truth?

There are seven stages on the path to truth; every soul had to go through in order to attain oneness. The first stage is a “Deprived Nafs. In this stage a person struggles for the worldly pursuits, he sticks on the materialistic things and suffers many hardships for the sack of the others. The second stage is the “Accusing the Nafs”. It is opposite of the previous one. In this stage a person debases the situation and he blames himself. In this stage a journey of inner purification starts. The third stage is the “inspired Nafs”. In this stage a person becomes mature; he surrenders and roams the valley of knowledge. And he passes and displays the patience, perseverance, wisdom and humility to others.  In this stage a someone become able to dwell here and he starts to lose the will to go further. The major hindrance of this stage is that this is trap for those people who aim to higher. The fourth stage is the “Serene Nafs”. In this stage a man altered into high level of consciousness. A man’s Generosity, gratitude and a wavering sense of content

ment regardless of the hardships becomes his nature. He entered into the valley of unity. Whatever situation God planned for him, he becomes happy. A mundane matter makes him no difference. In fifth stage a man somehow achieve the please nafs, serve God thorough serving others.   The sixth stage is the “Pleasing Nafs”. A person becomes a lantern for humanity. He radiates the energy. He teaches and illuminates like a true master. He heals powers and makes big difference in other lives. The seventh and last stage is the “Purified Nafs”. In this stage a man attain the stage of Insan-i-Kamil which means a perfect human being. Only few people attain this stage.

These above are seven stages which guided by Shams to Rumi. The path of Sufism is spiritual. Only those people understand who understand the language of Sufis. The seven stages are path to go Sufism. The language of Sufis is vast it cannot be define in words.

Is Science greater than religion?

Science and Religion

Science and religion are both different ends and should be treated separately. Science believes in experiments and observations, while religion believes in faith. They are both independent. I will begin my argument by quoting the examples of freedom, conflict and advancement.

Galileo's experiment
First, let me describe my opinion about freedom. In science you have a freedom of your hypothesis and can change it depending on the outcomes. You can criticize and rectify any theory of science. Science is based on evidences and observations. However, in religion there is no such freedom. You can not criticize the existence of God or any Holy book. Science is a world of doubt whereas religion is a world of faith. Prior to Albert Einstein, all theories of Newton were considered correct, but when Einstein proposed alternative theories with sound rational, some of the Newton’s theories were considered to be incorrect. Likewise, Galileo (inventor of the first microscope) proved that moon is not a goddess. Due to this controversial statement, Greek the churches punished him with death. So, in terms of freedom to question science is better than religion.

Migration of Indo-Pak
In second example, I will describe about conflicts of religion. Science does not create conflicts on proving while religion does. The message of religion is to create prosperity, brotherhood and love, but people have forgotten that message. Many racial and envious wars have been done due to religion. Pakistan separated from India due to many reasons. Religion could be one of them. It can be inferred that due to the religious discrimination, both nations got separated. When people of Indo-Pak migrated, across border millions of Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus were killed brutally. History tells us that many people have been killed due to religion. In addition, recently some terrorists attacked on the church in Lahore. Just on suspicion and without any evidences, people killed two citizens, and burnt them violently. So, religion creates differences. However, science does not. It does not differentiate between beliefs. It prefers the equality.  Technology is another blessing of Science, due to which people are connected globally.

Technology is a blessing
Now let me explain the third and last example related to advancement. As the time passed, science has became exponentially advance in technology. It has made our life easier and simple. Science has provided us many inventions. Our daily life is dependent on science. Everywhere, we are surrounded by various inventions of science, while religion at many issues is static. Science gives us physical comforts but religion gives us spiritual calm. Although science has materially progressed the earth but it has not yet unveiled the real questions of existence and life after death. As Newton said once;

Solar system
“Gravity explains the motion of the planets, but it cannot explain who sets the planets in motion.”

In the end it can be conclude that Science and religion are both independent to each other. Science prefers materialism while religion prefers spirituality.

Celebrities have tremendous influence on the youth, and for that reason, they have a responsibility to act as a role models.

Celebrities act as a role model for their followers. Followers, companions and their friends follow them. They have a tremendous influence on the youth. Mostly youngsters learn from celebrities, so celebrities have an also duty to act as a role model.  I start my stance by the famous examples of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, Mahatma Gandhi and Zaulifqar Ali Bhutto.

Prophet Muhammad was a last sermon of Islam. He was born in Makah. He guided his companion and followers. As He was a prophet of Allah, He had no need to do anything, but due to His followers, He acted as a role model and he done all common works. In the construction of “Masjid Nabvi” He also worked as a labor with his companions. His companion stopped him to do work but he refused. It is the best example of role model for youth. Prophet always acted as a role model for His followers. Many Muslims of all over the world followed him as a role model. Therefore, it is necessary for celebrities to act as a role model.

Mahatma Gandhi was a founder of India. He had charismatic personality. He was very simple man. He did his struggle through non-violent campaigns. According to him, if you want to change the world first you have to change yourself. Therefore, it is first responsibility of celebrities to change themselves, and act as a role model because youngsters and followers always learn and follow them.

Every father is a celebrity for his children. Mostly many children learn from his father. Father acted as a role model for his son or daughter. Zaulifqar Ali Bhutto was a famous politician of Pakistan.  His daughter always followed him. His daughter Benazir Bhutto’s role model was his father.  She learnt many things from his father. She always implemented his father’s advises. That’s why she immediately became first female prime minister in Islamic world. And she was very renowned politician of her time. So, youth does not only influenced by famous personalities but also from their parents.

In the end it can be conclude that celebrities have tremendous effect on youth and so they also act as a role model. Mostly youngsters learn from their celebrities.
